Snowmobiling is an activity that suits both beginners and experienced riders. You travel easily along groomed trails while the mountain landscape unfolds around you. For children, it is often a highlight to sit on the back of the snowmobile or ride in a sled and experience the mountains in a completely new way.

Discover Idre's extensive trail system
From Idre Himmelfjäll, you have access to SOND's trail system with over 180 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. Here you can easily travel between mountains, forests, and open landscapes and discover new places along the way.
If you'd rather join a guided tour, you can do so together with an experienced guide who adapts the tour based on weather, snow conditions, and the group's preferences.

You can choose between several different ways to experience the mountains on a snowmobile.
Guided snowmobile tour
Join a cozy tour through the scenic area around Idre Himmelfjäll. The tour is adapted to the weather and conditions and is perfect for those who want to experience the mountains together with a guide. Guided tours take place Wed-Sat, where you can choose a 1.5-hour or 2.5-hour tour
Rent your own snowmobile
If you want to explore the area at your own pace, you can rent a snowmobile and head out on your own in the trail system. Here you will find both comfortable family snowmobiles with a two-seat pad and sportier models. Choose between half-day rentals up to 7-day rentals.
Our snowmobiles
We have Ski-Doo snowmobiles from the 2023-2025 model years. There are family snowmobiles with a two-person seat or a sportier variant with a single seat. The snowmobiles are 4-stroke models: Ski-Doo Grand Touring 600 ACE and Ski-Doo Renegade Adrenaline 900 ACE.
To drive on your own, a Swedish driver’s license issued before the year 2000 or a snowmobile license is required. To drive on a snowmobile safari, you must have a B driver’s license or AM license (moped class 1). You can rent a helmet, clothes, and shoes from us.

Practical Information
The snowmobile tours depart from Idre Himmelfjäll, opposite the ski rental unless otherwise stated.
To drive a snowmobile, a B driver’s license or AM license (moped class 1) is required. If you have a Swedish driver’s license issued before the year 2000, it is also valid for snowmobiles. Bring a valid driver’s license or certificate of competence.
Children may ride as passengers together with a guardian. For younger children, a sled is recommended, with an adult sitting with them.
Helmet, clothing, and shoes are available to rent on site.
Return of the snowmobile no later than 4:00 PM. We will refuel the snowmobile at Skoterbua for a fee.
Booking
The snowmobile activities are arranged by Idre Scooter & Motor and are booked via their booking system.
