On-site service

At Idre Himmelfjäll, you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable mountain stay. In the center building where the restaurant Renen & Älgen is located, you’ll also find our Guest Center with reception and our mini market.

Parking & Electric Vehicle Charging

Parking is available adjacent to the accommodations and on the premises at the facility. EV charging stations are available by Skidboden, and several cabins offer their own charging options. Please note that charging an electric vehicle may only be done at designated locations.

Parking for motorhomes and caravans

During the summer, you are welcome to park your motorhome or caravan for free  of charge in the parking areas below Restaurant Renen & Älgen or Skidboden - for a maximum of 2 nights.

As we do not have a campsite on Idre Himmelfjäll, there is no electricity available, but a WC is available 24 hours a day. The WC is located next to the parking lot below Restaurant Renen & Älgen.

Waste & Recycling

Help us take care of the mountain environment by sorting your waste.

At Idre Himmelfjäll, there are environmental stations where you can sort:

  • Food waste

  • Residual waste

  • Plastic packaging

  • Paper packaging

  • Glass packaging

  • Metal packaging

Remember to take hazardous waste, electronics, and bulky waste to a recycling center. Thank you for helping us keep Idre Himmelfjäll clean and pleasant.

Reception & Cabin Service

Welcome to our reception, where our staff will help you with any questions or concerns. Our cabin service will help you if you have problems with your accommodation.

Ski Bus

With the ski bus, you can travel for free between the mountains. The ski bus runs from Idre village to Fjätervålen with stops including Idre Himmelfjäll and Idre Fjäll, Wednesdays (weeks 7-9 winter break and weeks 14-15 Easter break), Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from December 25, 2025 – April 11, 2026.

Food, restaurants and take-away

At Idre Himmelfjäll there are both restaurants and a mini-market. At restaurant Renen & älgen you can book a table or order take-away. In Kåtan there are both lunch and coffee breaks right on the slopes, and after a full day of skiing there is our cozy Après Ski.

Check-in and check-out

Upon arrival

When your accommodation is ready for check-in, you will receive a text message to the mobile number you provided when booking.

Check-in takes place at the reception at the northern entrance to Idre Himmelfjäll.

If you arrive after the reception has closed, there is an arrival envelope marked “Check in” in the box outside the reception.

If you arrive after 10:00 PM, you need to notify the reception in advance.

In the arrival envelope, you will find a map to the accommodation as well as information for your stay.

Upon departure

Check-out takes place at the reception at the northern entrance.

10:00 AM – for those who have booked departure cleaning

11:00 AM – for those who clean themselves

If you are leaving before the reception has opened, the keys and departure report should be placed in the mailbox on the wall by the arrival box.

If you clean yourself, there is a checklist with cleaning instructions.

Smart Energy Tips

For us, nature at Idre Himmelfjäll is extremely important. At the facility, we therefore always try to reduce unnecessary energy consumption, but our guests can also help contribute.

Here are some things you as a guest can do:

  • Keep the temperature steady and preferably no higher than 68 degrees.

  • Keep showers short.

  • The sauna is an energy hog. Heat the sauna to 158–176 degrees. Heating it to 212 degrees increases electricity consumption by 20–30%.

  • Washing dishes in a dishwasher saves energy compared with washing by hand.

  • Engine block heater – use a timer and do not start it earlier than necessary.

  • Electric car chargers should be used wisely and primarily at night.

Good to Keep in Mind

To make the most of your stay:

  • Book activities in advance as spots may fill up

  • Avoid queues by booking your ski pass online

  • Pre-book ski equipment for a smooth start

  • Please note that the range of services in the local area may be limited. There is no pharmacy in Idre. Therefore, bring your medications and pharmacy items with you.
