Grövelsjön

Grövelsjön is Sweden’s southernmost STF mountain facility. Here you’ll find a restaurant, mountain shop, bakery, and boat trips with M/S Sylöra that run on Grövelsjön to Norska Sylen. The area offers fantastic hiking, striking mountain views, and a lovely swimming area with a sandy beach.

Mickeltemplet

Mickeltemplet is an observation tower where you can see the entire mountain world of Northern Dalarna, as well as Härjedalen and Norway. Perfect for those who enjoy beautiful views. 

Göljådalen

If you want a nature experience beyond the ordinary, you should visit Göljådalen. The valley is a unique nature experience after the major natural disaster in 1997.

Gammelkyrkan Särna

Gammelkyrkan in Särna is one of Sweden’s and northern Dalarna’s oldest wooden churches, built as early as 1684. The charming church is beautifully surrounded by nature and carries a rich history. A visit here is perfect for those who want to combine mountain experiences with culture and history during their stay in Idre.

Lomkällan Forest and Defense Museum

The Lomkällan forest and defense museum is a 75-hectare outdoor area where you can see how forest workers lived and worked in the forest during the manual logging era up to the 1960s.

Fulufallen

Fulufallen offers 8 rapids and an 80 m high waterfall with only a short hike of about 400 m.

Fulufjället National Park with Njupeskär and Naturum

In Fulufjället National Park you’ll find Sweden’s highest waterfall, measuring a full 97 m. The national park is a magnificent hiking area with easy hikes in fantastic, lush nature.

Little and Big Fjätfallet

Little Fjätfallet offers both magnificent rapids and falls. Big Fjätfallet features several rapids and falls with a picturesque hiking trail along the waterfall.

Trollvägen on Nipfjället

Between the winter and summer parking areas next to Nipfjället there is a magical place called Trollvägen. Drive there, stop at the sign, and see what happens!

Rävgrytet / Rävhålet

Rävgrytet is perfect for those who like history. It is a resistance cabin that was used during World War II. To find it, take Route 70 toward the Norwegian border. At Drevsjö, turn left toward Engerdal. In the village of Kvilten, turn left toward Lortsätra, then continue straight ahead toward the pasture of Nysätra. Park and hike about 2 km.

Storsätern's Chapel

Storsätern's chapel is the northernmost chapel in Dalarna. It is used for weddings, funerals, baptisms, and concerts.

Jotli – nature and cultural area

If you enjoy culture, you should visit Jotli. The buildings and surroundings have been created to show a typical farming society during the 18th–19th centuries.

Klingstenen at Klingforsen

Klingforsen's beautiful rapids and falls in Storån; you can find Klingstenen about 300 m upstream, between the road and the water.

Silverfallet

Silverfallet is a waterfall that is as beautiful as it sounds. You can reach it with an easy hike.

Lomviksgården

Lomviksgården is a large farm and border trading station built between 1867 and 1868 on a headland in Flötningssjön near the village of Flötningen by the Swedish-Norwegian border. Since 1991, the farm has been a listed building monument.
